Bored during lockdown;
I became more aware of visual details in my immediate environment.
On some mornings the low winter sun cast shadows on a wall.
I watched them creep across the room as the day passed by.
Stills from the original recording.
As the sun moved the image inverted from indistinct splashes of light to definite shadow shapes of the window frames.
Towards the end the shapes of the window remain relatively still whilst the less distinct shadows of more distant trees slidĀ from one frame to the next.
Consequently, there are different phases which help emulate passing time.
The tedious hours of lockdown are simulated in a compressed 30 seconds.
